In recent days we completed and delivered a funnel destined for a cruise ship currently under construction.

In naval terminology, the funnel is the structure that channels and manages the exhaust gas flows from the ship’s engines and onboard generators. But in the reality of the shipyard it is much more than that: a large structural module integrating ducts, technical passages, equipment supports and internal volumes dedicated to ventilation and exhaust gas treatment systems.

We are talking about steel structures that are far beyond the scale of everyday work in many industrial sectors. Structures that occupy the entire transport deck, designed and manufactured with millimetre tolerances to integrate perfectly into the ship during the final installation phases.

From fabrication in the workshop to barge transportation and final delivery at the shipyard, precision and coordination between teams are the key elements in handling structural components of this scale.
