Indoor construction of prefabricated structures without weight limits
The Ship Carpentry Department of the Cartubi shipyard boasts considerable experience and know-how in the design and construction of superstructures for major cruise ships, mega-yacht superstructures, and entire hulls, both for its own projects and for leading Italian shipyards.
Ship Carpentry: Dedicated Spaces
The carpentry department covers an area of over 6,000 square meters, with a sliding roof that allows for indoor construction of prefabricated carpentry structures without weight limits.
Cartubi has:
- 3 overhead cranes with a capacity of 25 tons each,
- 3 rail-mounted tower cranes with a capacity of 60 tons each, which can work in pairs,
- 180 welding stations.
- 60 connections for technical gases,
- 60 compressed air connections.
Naval grade welding and more
The carpentry department specializes in the construction of artifacts made of aluminum alloy, of any thickness from 2 mm and above, as well as being specialized in the construction of artifacts made of extruded aluminum panels.
In recent years, Cartubi has gained significant experience and know-how in the design and construction of complete superstructures for major cruise ships, mega yacht superstructures, and entire hulls for its own projects and for leading Italian shipyards. Additionally, Cartubi has expertise in the fabrication of entire aluminum funnels, including outfitting, for all cruise ships built in Italy.
The Carpentry Department is also specialized in steel processing and naval welding. Within the shipyard’s facilities, entire boat hulls are fabricated as well as heavy carpentry structures for the Oil & Gas and industrial sectors.
