Inauguration of “Ambrosiana”: once again at the side of Navigazione Laghi in renewing the passenger fleet

The official delivery of Ambrosiana, a hybrid passenger vessel with a capacity of 350 passengers designed to operate on Lake Como, took place on July 21, 2025, in full compliance with contractual agreements.

It is the third vessel we have built as part of the renewal plan for the lake fleet — a complex public transport project aimed at achieving more sustainable and efficient mobility. A fourth sister vessel, currently nearing completion, will follow between the end of 2025 and early 2026.

One of the most significant challenges was the construction in transportable sections: every part of the vessel was designed and built to be transported by road, allowing final assembly directly at the destination shipyard. This approach requires precision engineering, logistical coordination, and specialized expertise — to be applied consistently even in third-party facilities, which are less familiar and often constrained by nearby tourist or residential areas.

Our work did not end with construction: we also oversaw the crew training, ensuring continuity from the ship’s construction to its operational deployment.

On September 29, we took part in the inauguration ceremony organized by the client on Lake Como, attended by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini and the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council Alessandro Morelli. The event marked the vessel’s official entry into service — a hybrid-powered ship enabling quieter and more environmentally friendly navigation.
