In the history of the sea and in its future
In 1973, the artisan consortium CAR.TUBI was established, the first type of consortium formed by artisans in the province of Trieste. The consortium’s activity, mainly directed towards shipbuilding, continued until 1988, when the various artisans who had formed the consortium decided to join as partners in the establishment of Cantieri Navali Cartubi Srl, which would find its operational headquarters in the area of the former Giuliano Naval Shipyard in Molo F.lli Bandiera in Trieste.
In 1998, Cantieri Navali Cartubi Srl and Mr. Franco Giovanni established Nuovo Arsenale Triestino Srl. Cartubi company subscribed to the majority of the shares, thus becoming the controlling entity of the newly established company.
Nuovo Arsenale Triestino Srl aims to refurbish the old shipyard of the former Arsenale Triestino S.Marco, which was decommissioned by Fincantieri, in order to revive the shipbuilding tradition of Trieste.
During 1998, the workshop building for mechanical operations and the one for welding, along with the adjacent slipway, were acquired and refurbished for the company’s typical activities. Due to the significant workload and to expand its operations by acquiring new contracts, in 2002, Nuovo Arsenale Triestino purchased an adjacent industrial building on the same site.
In 2005, Cantieri Navali Cartubi merged with Nuovo Arsenale Triestino through fusion, strategically aligning and integrating the activities of the two companies, thereby penetrating the naval shipbuilding sector with greater competitiveness, while still maintaining activities in the civil and industrial plant engineering sectors.
The first consortium formed by 6 artisans in Trieste is established, on May 28, 1973, the Consortium of Artisans C.AR.TUBI is born with its headquarters and workshops in Muggia (Trieste).
The artisan consortium decides to merge into a company called Cantieri Navali Cartubi Srl, with operational headquarters in the former Giuliano San Giusto Naval Shipyard at Molo F.lli Bandiera in Trieste, and offices in Aquilinia (Trieste).
Cantieri Navali Cartubi Srl begins the construction of naval vessels, including the construction of the first floating basin
The first self-propelled barge 'Levante' is constructed
The first tugboat for Giuliana Bunkeraggi, 'Pegasus II,' is constructed
The first transformation/extension of a dredger-barge, 'Angelo B,' is carried out
The administrative offices in Aquilinia also move to the shipyard at Molo F.lli Bandiera (Trieste)
Cantieri Navali Cartubi Srl and Mr. Franco Giovanni establish Nuovo Arsenale Triestino Srl, which aims to restore efficiency to the old shipyard of the former Arsenale Triestino S. Marco.
The workshop building for mechanical operations and the one for welding, along with the adjacent slipway, were acquired to also construct the first superstructure for the Golden Princess.
The shipyard at Molo F.lli Bandiera is designated solely to serve the recreational boating sector.
Nuovo Arsenale Triestino acquired four industrial warehouses for use as warehouses and workshops.
The slipway for the barge 'Giuliana' is put into operation
Cantieri Navali Cartubi incorporates Nuovo Arsenale Triestino through a merger, strategically aligning and integrating the activities of the two companies, thus becoming Nuovo Arsenale Cartubi (NAC).

Nel 2023 Cartubi compie 50 anni. Per il festeggiamento di questo importante traguardo la società ha organizzato, Sabato 1º Luglio, l’evento “Cartubi 50th Anniversary ” coinvolgendo tutti i suoi collaboratori ed estendendo l’invito alle loro famiglie ed amici.
Durante la festa il CEO di Cartubi, Mauro Franco, ha colto l’occasione per ringraziare i suoi preziosi collaboratori ricordando l’importante ruolo che hanno svolto, e continuano a svolgere, per il raggiungimento dei traguardi societari, tra cui i 50 anni di attività.
